Let's face it: Shoe shopping in New York is not so hot right now. The department stores all have good shoe collections, and Soho is filled with single-brand outposts of major national chains, but we're suffering from a major dearth of edited boutiques dedicated entirely to footwear. A couple notes: This isn't Hypebeast, so we haven't included a ton of sneaker stores—just the biggest and the newest. Because we wanted to keep the list practical rather than aspirational, there is some fast fashion on there, but we tried to only mention the best options. We skipped the super-obvious discount stores—you don't need us to tell you about DSW. And lastly, if we left out your favorite, let us know in the comments.Read More
