Seven New Stores to Visit Before Labor Day

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

By our count, forty noteworthy stores opened in New York City this summer. That number is no joke, but all forty of those spaces are going to fall out of focus after Labor Day, when Fashion Week arrives followed by a slew of major fall debuts. You know how it is with summer flings.

To highlight these launches one final time, we've turned them into handy Google maps. A 40-location map would be exhausting, so we've broken the list into three categories: Clothing, accessories, and miscellaneous others. Let's start with the latter, which is admittedly a little random but does include some blockbusters: Duane Reade Wall Street, anyone? Look for all seven new shops after the jump, and check back tomorrow and Thursday for the other two run-downs.
