Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Summer in New York City means there's a lot to do outdoors that's free—from movies in the park to waterfront concerts and, if you're feeling so inclined, stripping down to your sports bra and exercising with strangers. If you're looking to Downward Dog it outside, under the sun, and in this humidity, there are plenty of places for you to do that.

After the jump, we've rounded up nine spots for outdoor yoga, pilates, and tai chi: most are in city parks, one is in the Meatpacking District, and one—the only place on this list that's not free—is on a Midtown East roofdeck. Of course, this list isn't all encompassing, so feel free to leave your own favorite spot in the comments.

Update: We've added Union Square to the map, making it a total count of nine!

Kick your practice up a notch with Central Park's Hiking Yoga this summer; you'll high-tail it to a desired spot and do your practice there. Classes last about 90 minutes, and you'll meet at the Jose Marti Statue on the corner of 6th Ave and Central Park South. The schedule's a bit of a pain, but you can sort through it here

3. Yo Yoga! NYC

344 East 59th Street
New York, New York 10022
The outdoor classes at Yo Yoga aren't free (they're $20 for drop-ins, and packages are available), but they are held on the studio's rooftop deck. Classes will take place outdoors so long as it's at least 68 degrees outside, but if the weather's not good they'll be moved indoors. One thing to consider: the roof gets a lot of direct sunlight from 10:30am and 2:30pm. [Photo]
