Beauty in New York ranges from tiny no-name nail salons to palaces of hair care that charge thousands of dollars and get name-checked on Gossip Girl. Given the variety, diversity, and sheer number of salons and shops, it's probably impossible to pull together a purely objective list of the the 38 best beauty destinations in the city. But that's not going to stop us from trying.
