Where to Buy a Gift for a Member of the One Percent

View as Map

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

According to official figures, to be a part of NYC's one percent you've got to bring in at least $493,439 a year. How you do that is not our problem; how you spend it during the holidays, however, is. New York has no shortage of pricey boutiques, but we've picked the top fifteen for giving a gift to the One Percenters on your list. From $300 salt to a $1,225 adult toy, these shops carry merchandise for the pickiest customers and gift recipients.

Just keep in mind that whatever you buy must be neatly gift-wrapped, because the first person you need to impress is really the assistant/butler/multilingual maid. And remember?sticky bows from the Duane Reade greeting card aisle are for the 99%. Got any other suggestions? Do let us know in the comments.
