Welcome back to Racked's Summer Recap, our three-part series reminding you of all the many stores that opened this summer. Think of it as a last hurrah before Labor Day—a final time to appreciate how different the city's retail scene can become over just a few months.

By our count, there were forty openings in all. Yesterday, we mapped seven new spots selling food or beauty (or both, in the case of the mega Duane Reade on Wall Street, which offers sushi and blow-outs.) Tomorrow, we'll bring you the best in new clothing boutiques. As for today, let's talk accessories shops. This summer marked the birth of a few new places to buy jewelry or bags. But shoes really rule this category, with brands from Frye to New Balance launching fancy new flagships.
