There's no denying that New York City is a concrete jungle right now, and with temperatures that have been climbing into the mid-90s, it's best to stay off the sidewalks and under a leafy tree somewhere. In addition to the obvious parks and shady brunch spots, there are also a handful of hidden outdoor oases tucked away at Manhattan's local stores. Step into Alejandro Ingelmo's tiny, space-conscious Soho shop and you'll be entering a world of strappy sandals and signature sneakers. Just beyond the store's backroom partition, a beautiful outdoor space complete with an ivy covered wall awaits shoppers—that is, those who are granted entry to the store's special events and soirées.

By now, you know that Surf Saturdays NYC is as much an outdoor hangout as it is a clothing store/coffee shop, and their chill backyard draws just as much of a crowd as the brand's laidback tees.
This husband-and-wife run Mott Street boutique is known for its beachy, bohemian wares and its warm, welcoming staff. Every so often, the store holds special events and parties in their cozy little backyard, including some for the pint-sized fashion set.
