This season's Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show kicked off yesterday afternoon with a flurry of activity. If you're unfamiliar with this epic event, now is the time to get in the know: It features a curated collection of more than 90 of the country's most exciting vintage sellers and some of the best style and people watching in New York, all under one roof.
Without further delay, here's our run-down of six sellers at the Show that truly bring their A-game and streamline the vintage shopping process. Without a doubt, they'll help you spend less time digging and more time narrowing down your purchases.
Year after year, Amarcord Vintage is perhaps one of the biggest and most popular booths at the Show. Of course it's no surprise, as their solid selection of high-end vintage pieces, including Missoni, Balenciaga, and Vivienne Westwood would make any fashion-loving heart melt. This year, they're hosting a vintage classic Chanel bag giveaway during the Show— just stop by the booth and speak with one of the shopgirls for more details.
If you're not already familiar with Another Man's Treasure, you are truly missing out. This Jersey City gem is owned by a young couple with an impeccable eye for vintage clothing, accessories, and even records and other relics from other eras. Among their offerings we found sweet '50s dresses, a killer men's motorcycle jacket, and loads of fur muffs and hats.
Daybreak is a solid stop if you're looking for sparkly bits and baubles. This Albany-based shop has a great offering of brooches and statement jewels, and loads of sequined apparel to keep you sparkling at every fete from now until New Year's.
You may recognize Nomad Vintage from its past presence at the Antiques Garage and the former Chelsea flea. It's an excellent stop for colorful and unique vintage wares, and they specialize in women's apparel and also offer some very special accessories.
For everything a vintage-loving girl could want, check out Orlando Vintage. Offering a truly curated collection of coats, dresses, handbags, and even a rack full of YSL silk blouses and tailored pieces, you won't want to leave this booth. Owner Lisa is also incredibly personable and has sold to the likes of the Mad Men set and Tory Burch designers in the past.
Rue St. Denis is the best stop for any gentleman. With impeccable suiting, ties, and sunglasses, they know how to keep a guy looking sharp. This year's booth also had a nice selection of dresses and separates for the ladies.
Check out our gallery for a glimpse at some of the goods on offer at these booths and others. The Show continues today from 11am to 6pm, at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 West 18th Street. Admission is $20 at the door. Note that many booths allow try ons in a communal fitting room at the far back corner of the Show, which is a nice feature.
