Of all the things we gently, um, tease Gwyneth Paltrow for, the one topic we would never dare question is etiquette. Well, there is a flock of porcine beasts flying outside our window right now because in the latest GOOP newsletter, Gwynnie has gone to another source for etiquette advice: Harper's Bazaar editor-at-large, Classy author and general man-about-town Derek Blasberg.
Let's remember that these two probably attend the same soirées, so they're on-the-same-page, so to speak. In addition to suggesting a gift of warm champagne (who'da thunk?), grabbing a bag of chips at the bodega after an unsatisfactory meal (that sounds more like it) and suggestions on Twitt-iquette at a meal, our favorite is when Gwyneth asks how to subtly dictate dinner party dress code. Derek's piece of advice (which may or may not apply to all hosts):
They'll clearly understand the party's tone if you tell them that you're wearing, for example, jeans and a blazer, or your to-die-for, over-the-top YSL Moroccan tunic and metallic espadrilles. Then they'll pass this info on to the others as they scramble to find their own vintage kaftans.
