Rugged jaunts through nature and slick city lifestyles do not always complement one another, but leave it to fashion to bring the two ideas together in harmony. Always one step ahead of the game, Rachel Comey has designed a new line of hiking accessories available locally at Opening Ceremony and also online at La Garçonne and TenOverSix. The entire collection features backpacks, knapsacks and clutches in varying ikat and tribal prints.
At Opening Ceremony, urban warriors will find Comey's two takes on the traditional backpack (a gray ikat design and a blue circular pattern) and also two drawstring knapsacks with foldover flaps (a black flap with paisley-ish design and a brown flap with green ikat pattern). This kind of nature loving is a bit more of an investment than your standard JanSport, as the Opening Ceremony backpacks and knapsacks run from $315 to $350. The clutches, available at La Garçonne and TenOverSix, are priced at $276 to $298. Not sure how functional these would be on a backpacking trip through Nepal, but we're pretty sure they'll be looking good on a stroll through the park and brunch thereafter.
