New York’s Fashion Forecast for Thursday, July 14th, 2016

Welcome to Fashion Forecast, where you can find out what New York City’s weather will be like today — and most importantly, how to dress for it.

Good morning! Today is Thursday, July 14th, 2016. And Thursday is going to be a hot one. As of this publication, weather.com says that it’s already a steamy 78 degrees in Midtown Manhattan that actually feels lie 84 largely thanks to a high percentage of humidity in the air. And while temperatures are expected to climb to a recorded high of 87 degrees, it’s actually going to feel like 96 — ugh.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to roll through in the middle of the afternoon — and quite possibly during your evening commute — so pack an umbrella, since it’s too hot to think about raincoats.

Need something to make today’s weather sound better? Tomorrow’s expected to be even hotter.

So what should you wear today? Whatever’s easiest, like that black dress in your closet that barely touches your body. If you want a little more shape, tie whatever you’re using as an office cover-up these days around your waist, and pair it with sneakers that’ll make it easy to puddle-hop later in the day.

Break out of the all-black look with a candy-colored crossbody, and get your hair off your face with a slicked-back ponytail or bun — so when you inevitably sweat today, you’ll get that just-came-from-the-gym look.

Let’s part with a lesson in how to look cool when you’re basically on fire:
