Go Inside Canvas Home's Warehouse Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Canvas Home warehouse sale kicked off at 407 Broome Street this morning at 10 a.m. We stopped by and were delighted to find discounted home staples like dishware, kitchen accessories, and furniture.

When we arrived just after 2:00 p.m. there was already a sizable line outside. Everyone was pretty chill as they waited, talking about their decorating plans with strangers turned confidantes in the line.

This sale definitely isn't for the faint of heart. There are tons of trinkets waiting to be discovered without the mercy of air conditioning and you'll need to check each item's box to be sure you're grabbing the right product (your arms will get a workout!).

At the front of the store, you'll find porcelain and glass kitchen necessities, like wine and champagne glasses ($3), the Helena carafe ($10), and the Seagate pitcher ($25). Lamps and furniture are housed in the back and range from $10 lampshades to $250 mini round leather chairs. All the larger sofas that we spotted were already claimed with bright yellow "sold" stickers planted on them. We did see a wire shelving unit and learned smaller furniture must be taken when purchased, you cannot leave it for pickup at a later time.
