Story wants you to Have Fun this summer, and it's saying so in a universal language: emoji. "This is less of a story and more of a commentary on a trend and a moment in time," owner Rachel Shechtman told Racked about the latest concept of her ever-changing boutique (in partnership with Pepsi) during a preview of the colorful installation this morning. "People are communicating less with words and more with images."
Around the store, you'll find merchandise like apparel, iPhone cases, and tablewear that's branded with PepsiMoji, and the DIY station for T-shirts and the photo booth have them, too. But you'll also find standout non-soft-drink-related items like Jump From Paper's two-dimensional backpacks, Pintrill's Instagram-friendly pins, and The Stranded Stitch's emoji cross stitch.
And every Friday, the store will participate in happier hours, where guests can jumpstart their weekends with food, drinks, and DJs. "Actions speak louder," Schechtman summarized, "so go ahead and express your self (or selfie)."
Story: Have Fun is open daily through Sunday, May 23rd.
