After several visits to the Prabal Gurung sample sale over the past few seasons, one thing has become painfully obvious: Anyone who's looking to cop Michelle Obama's style for less should be shopping here right now. The designer's structured silk pieces with black paneling at the waist just scream "First Lady," and we spotted plenty of them on the sample racks at the label's Garment District studio this morning, like the one in the gallery above that's going for just $150.
Keep scrolling through to see more of our favorites from this sale, including a cream-colored jumpsuit with sheer cutouts that's more than 80% off its retail price and straight-from-the-runway shoes for under $100.
As we expected, sizing is limited: Samples are generally a 2 or a 6, and you're not guaranteed to find the full 0—10 range in every style.
This sale is a bit longer than it has been in the past — running for three days, instead of just two — but this morning's shoppers were wasting no time, taking armfuls of garments to the makeshift changing area (it's like a closet within the conference room, but with some mirrors) to try on everything from pencil skirts to gowns.
