Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

One sample sale venue, two brands. Theory and Helmut Lang will offer discounts on men's and women's apparel at 261 West 36th Street beginning Monday, February 15th — you didn't have plans for President's Day, right?

Now is your chance to save on Theory's men's and women's apparel and Helmut Lang women's apparel, with a selection that includes "samples and slight irregulars." The last time we checked out this sale, we found an extensive selection of irregulars, with prices starting at $50 for tanks, tees, tops, skirts, and sweaters, while shorts and pants were $55, and dresses and jumpsuits were $70. Basically, good deals are expected, but just keep your eyes peeled for damages.

As for regularly produced items, we found Theory denim jackets ($100), Helmut Lang leather mini skirts and blouses (both $50), and outerwear ($155), but sizing was extremely limited.

It remains to be seen if Theory's offering will beat the Chelsea Market sale earlier this year. Check out the Dealfeed below for more details about when you can stop by this event.
