The Alice and Olivia Sample Sale Has Further Markdowns, No Shortage of Glitz

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We stopped into C21 Edition's Alice and Olivia sample sale last night at 21 Dey Street and found that not much changed from the sale's initial offering during the VIP preview. There is still a ton of glitz and gowns — and now it's cheaper. What was 65% off retail is now 70% off, 70% off is now 75% off, and 75% off is now 80% off.

We didn't spot much newness in the merchandise; a few items that weren't there originally include a lace maxi ($224.50), sequin pants ($110), a studded suede jacket ($499.50), and a leather-bodice-with-tutu-skirt situation ($199.25) mixed in on the racks. There were still plenty of sequin mini dresses ($199), maxi skirts ($159.60), glittering bustiers ($159.40), bedazzled bomber jackets ($249.50), plus one rack dedicated to more subtle (yet still embellished) knit tops.

On the right side of the store, the evening gowns looked as if they either hadn't been touched or were being restocked on the regular. We saw tons of style that would be pretty for both bride and guests, or anyone looking to add a little drama to their wardrobe.

We also noticed that there were more accessories on the floor this time around. In addition to the fur stoles ($79), tuxedo clutches ($79), and bow belts ($16), we saw zip-around wallets ($59) mixed in with a larger selection of beaded clutches.

No word on if prices will drop again before the sale's end at 6pm today. Check out the Dealfeed below for more details and if you decide to shop the sale for yourself, let us know how you fare in the comments.
