Change is afoot on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 22nd Street in Flatiron. Lucky Brand will permanently close the doors to its 172 Fifth Avenue location, according to property management company Thor Equities, and will be replaced by Rituals Cosmetics.

While Flatiron is known in shopping circles these days for its strong lean toward fitness gear — there are two new stores that specialize in activewear headed to the neighborhood in the coming weeks, joining the likes of Nike, New Balance, Lululemon, and Athleta — this particular corner happens to be beauty-replete: L'Occitane, MAC Cosmetics, and Origins are all at the same intersection.

Rituals has been actively expanding in New York City as of late. Most recently, its "coming soon" signage was spotted on Bleecker Street. Meanwhile, Lucky Brand will maintain its other New York City stores within the Time Warner Center, on Broadway in Soho, and on Smith Street in Brooklyn.
