What's Left at the Scoop NYC Sale Is For Weather Extremes

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We stopped back into the Scoop NYC end-of-season sale this afternoon to check out what's left from opening day. The back of the Soho store where the sale is being held is a bit of a mess, but there's enough good pieces left to justify digging through the racks and stacks. Make sure to have your calculator app ready to go — what you'll pay at the register is still 60% off what's written in red on the tag.

There isn't a lot left in the premium designer section right across from the cash registers. We did spot a colorful Maison Margiela shift dress for $236 (was $990), a blue Zero + Maria Cornejo sheath dress for $239.60 (was $995), and a printed Roberto Cavalli fit-and-flare dress for $311.60 (was $1,295).

The higher-end designer shoe section is very picked over as well. There are mostly Jimmy Choo styles left, but we did see white crackled leather Masion Margiela booties ($267.60) in a size 10, and black Tamara Mellon sandals ($251.60) in a size 39.

There are maybe ten bags left — mostly Zac Zac Posen — as well as a single Jerome Dreyfuss style. They all appeared to be priced in the $350 range.

The more contemporary women's apparel is towards the back on the right-hand side of the space. It looks like the more summery styles are left, like a white Iro romper ($184). We spotted a lot of thin tee-shirts and sleeveless dresses overall. There was decent stock in a green layered sleeveless shift dress by O'2nd ($119.60) that we liked as well. We also spotted a leather fringed mini skirt by IRO ($187.60), and a Mary Katarantzou iguana print crop top ($327.60).

Moving back, there are lots of racks of jackets and coats. A fuzzy, colorblocked zip-up from T by Alexander Wang ($143.60) caught our eye, as did a black shearling lined style by Mackage ($267.60). There are also a lot of Scoop-branded fur vests left, which we found a little odd but didn't mind. A colorful navy and burgundy rabbit fur one ($415.60) stood out the most.

Shoes in this section are also pretty picked over. There are a few pairs of Stuart Weitzman ankle boots in black leather and tan suede left, and we spotted some Rag & Bone booties as well. Jeans are piled on a table moving towards the back past the shoes. This area is nothing short of a disaster, but we saw pairs by AG, Rag & Bone, and Citizens of Humanity hanging around.

The men's side on the left is much better kept than the women's side. The tee-shirts and jeans are all folded neatly, and we saw styles from brands like Quality Peoples, AG, and Rag & Bone. There are a fair amount of J. Lindeberg trousers left as well, with a navy pair for $83.60, and a black and white speckled pair for the same price. There are a fair amount of sport shirts as well, like a plaid style by Etro ($79.60).

There are definitely steals left here if you're willing to look for them. The sale is expected to last for at least another week, and it's unclear whether there'll be any further markdowns; check out the Dealfeed below for more details.
