It turns out that the the Equinox hotel-slash-biggest gym that's coming to Hudson Yards will have some serious competition just a few blocks north. According to Well + Good, Minneapolis-based national wellness brand Life Time Athletic Sky will open its first New York City facility at West 42nd Street and Eleventh Avenue.
The 70,000-square-foot (!!) wellness center will open sometime this spring with "a 60-foot-long indoor pool and a water club with a Turkish style hammam, a gorgeous roof deck with two zero-edge outdoor pools, a professional-size indoor basketball court, a full-service spa, and a LifeCafe, with smoothies, veggie bowls, and more," the website notes.
That's in addition to multiple studios dedicated to yoga, cycling, and group fitness classes from franchises like LifeBarre, Performance Cycle, Shaun T's Insanity, and Zumba.
This definitely won't the cheapest gym around — monthly dues are $179, and you'll have to pay extra for the limited-access outdoor pools during summer — but they are in line with NYC's Equinox membership prices.
