Update: Due to winter storm Jonas, the sale has been pushed back to open on Monday, January 25th and will run through Friday, January 29th.
Govern yourselves accordingly: the ridiculously extravagant Dennis Basso sample sale starts tomorrow at 317 West 33rd Street at 9am, if you happen to have a few thousand dollars to spend on women's fur coats and vests (and feel like venturing out in this weekend's impeding snowstorm, too).
Be warned that markdowns at Dennis Basso can mean spending up to $15,000 on a single coat. The last time we checked out the sale, we found fur vests, boleros, long coats, and cropped sables in the $2,000 to $38,000 range (yes, really), ball gowns for around $1,500 (reduced from $30,000), boots for $1,000, an alligator tote for $1,500, and a pair of $760 earmuffs — which, to be honest, may or may not be necessary this weekend.
According to the sale host, shoppers can expect fur-lined raincoats, cashmere coats, shearlings, dresses, gowns, clothing, exotic skin handbags, and scarves this time around, plus, a selection of fur throws and pillows. Stop by 317 West 33rd Street from 9am to 6:30pm between Monday and Friday to check it out for yourself.
