Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Out with the old, in with the new old: End-of-season sales at two of New York's best spots are making the case for rewriting that adage. Check out Shareen first, since that's ending sooner — and also because prices start at just $15.

"I have never gifted a sale such as this" in New York City, owner Shareen Mitchell wrote to Racked in an email (she's got an LA location, too.) "My business in NY has become so much more oriented to bridal that my day and cocktail vintage dresses have been languishing. The reality is, these are truly perfect pieces of stock that deserve to belong to some great, cool girls in NY."

That means separates and day dresses start at $15, while cocktail dresses start at $28 and evening pieces are all $88. In other words, you can probably buy a few things for under $100. This sale is running daily from 11am to 7pm through Friday, January 22nd on the second floor of 13 West 17th Street.

And if you have the energy (and the budget) for a second round, consider checking out the discounts at What Goes Around Comes Around in Soho. This isn't quite like sample sale pricing, but all clothing — from designer labels to Levi's jeans — is 30% off and furs are 40% off both in store and online through January 31st. Sorry, the shop's enviable handbag selection isn't included this time.
