Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Work out more. Save money. Try new things. Invest in fewer, better clothes. How many of those resolutions made your list in 2016? Catch up on all of them at once with Racked Fit Club this Thursday, January 14th at 6:30pm. That's when we're headed to the brand new, luxe Financial District location of Chaise Fitness to work out for free with co-founder Rachel Piskin — we'll be taking the new Chaise Bands class, a 55-minute full-body workout fusing aerobics, ballet, and Pilates with just a mat and resistance bands. And, huge bonus: Alala is providing free tops and leggings to every participant!
Students should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to the third floor of 180 Maiden Lane to check in and change into their new Alala gear (the brand recommends bringing along an extra set of workout clothes, just in case something doesn't fit). Sneakers are required for class. The studio will provide us with water bottles and towels, and we'll have full access to location amenities like self-locking storage and showers in the lockers rooms. If you fall in love with the workout, you'll have the chance to take advantage of Chaise's "Three classes for $33" offer for new clients.
Update: The class is now full — thanks to everyone who signed up! If you're interested in checking out Alala, you can take 20% off your online purchase with the code RACKED20 through January 31st.
Want in on the action? We've got 14 spots to fill. Send an email here with the subject line "Racked Fit Club" and your name in the body of the email, as well as your top and bottom sizes. We're accepting participants on a first-come, first-serve basis — and sorry, we can't accept reservations for friends; each person who wants to attend must send a separate email. Anyone who sends an email after the class is filled will be put on the wait list, and we'll notify you if space frees up.
