Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Update: The collab has dropped! Head here to check out our updates from stores around the city.
If the only collaboration you're thinking about this season has a Kardasho-Jenner affiliation, then you're going to be missing out on this week's Uniqlo x Lemaire debut. The former Hermès designer's namesake line, created with business and life partner Sarah-Linh Tran, is filled with cozy knits and long overcoats that are perfect for the months to come.
Aside from Chicago, the only stores that this collection will land at this Friday, October 2nd are the three Manhattan stores: The Fifth Avenue flagship, Herald Square, and Soho (so, not Atlantic Terminal). Unlike an H&M collab launch, where stores open early and shoppers are grouped by colored bracelets denoting entry time, it doesn't appear that any of these stores will open any earlier than their usual 10am — but if that changes, we'll let you know.
Planning to go to the stores on Friday morning might be a safe bet, since there could be a run on merchandise when Uniqlo x Lemaire becomes available online at midnight that day. Head over to our sister site for a complete guide on how to shop the collaboration, and get ready for a second collection to come this summer.
Update: Uniqlo has added Fifth Avenue to the list of stores where this collaboration will be released!
