Park Slope Favorite Poppy Is Closing With a Big Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Three years after opening — and two years after closing her decade-old store in Nolita — Poppy owner Leslie McKeown announced today that she'd be shutting down her Park Slope boutique. Long a favorite indie shopping option on the mom- and stroller-heavy Fifth Avenue stretch, it's expected to exit the neighborhood by the end of September.

In traditional store-closing fashion, however, shoppers can score an extra 50% to 75% off all existing merchandise as of today, as well as deals on store fixtures and decor. We're not sure what McKeown has up her sleeve next (the email simply stated that "new adventures await!") but hopefully it'll involve remaining in the city.
