Apiece Apart's Sample Sale Has Plenty for Under $100

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Apiece Apart's summer sample sale started this morning, and by 11am the small space on Centre Street was packed with eager shoppers trying on pieces in the middle of the showroom, in true sample sale fashion. With both sample pieces and production items, it was no surprise that certain items were already selling out.

Sweaters, coats, and pants can be found among the racks, so there are plenty of pieces available to transition into early fall. Styles and sizes will be restocked throughout the sale, though no new styles will be put out. Though definitely heavier on tops and separates, there were some dresses peeking out from the racks. We loved a black and white form-fitting dress with cutouts, and a long-sleeve floral printed dress, both for $149. For tops, we loved a checkered crop top for $50, and a white cropped tank top with a ruffle for $66. They also had a few different styles of sweaters (we liked a cropped white sweater for $75, also available in orange) and several different coats, all still available in multiple sizes.

There were a ton of different styles of pants, skirts, and shorts, some as samples and others available in a full range of sizes. Many of the pieces were part of two piece sets, though they're sold separately and are very easy to mix and match. We loved a pair of wide legged white shorts for $80, which paired well with the cropped sweater in orange. We also loved a blue sample skirt, and pair of black patterned pants for $93.

With several pieces under $100, we're guessing some of our favorite pieces will be selling out fast. The sale will be going through the weekend, closing today at 7pm, but opening again Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 6pm.
