In the happiest coincidence of all, a Racked tipster happened to visit Rent the Runway's new warehouse store in Secaucus, New Jersey and found that for this weekend only, everything in the entire space is an extra 40% off, making prices even cheaper than the average sample sale—but in a much less crazy-crowded environment.
Shopping blog Le Hoarder adds that also unlike the sample sales, there are tons of friendly staffers to help you out, as well as actually comfortable fitting rooms. As for merchandise, she found a 40%-off $403 Barbara Bui leather jacket (originally $2,570, making it around $240), as well as a Helmut Lang version for 40% off $218 (originally $1,390, making the final price around $130). Also among the racks: Tons of Herve Leger dresses for under $200 even before discounts, and dresses by Clover Canyon, BCBG and Erin by Erin Featherston, for around—wait for it—$20. Unless you've already got plans to go to the Hamptons this weekend, you might consider taking the train the opposite direction.
