Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Hold off on happy hour just a little bit longer this week to take a complimentary Physique 57 class with Racked NY this Friday, July 17th at 3pm at the boutique chain's Soho location at 161 Avenue of the Americas, on the corner of Spring Street. Instructor Sydney Lotuaco will lead us in 57 minutes (get it?) of body-sculpting cardio, strength training, and stretching with equal emphasis on arms, abs, thighs, and seat.
Never been to a Physique 57 class before, or even to barre? No worries—this beginner-level class will focus on the fundamentals, but still pose challenges to men and women at any fitness level.
Prospective students should be able to arrive at least ten minutes before class begins for check-in and set-up. The studio recommends you wear comfy, stretchy workout gear and socks—no bare feet in class! Grippy socks are preferred (you can buy them at the studio if you'd like), but regular ones work just fine as well. Bring along your own water bottle or purchase one at the studio. You can also bring a padlock to store your belongings in the locker room, or stash them in cubbies in the classroom, and you'll have full access to studio amenities should you need to shower after class.
Update: This class is now full—thanks very much to everyone who signed up!

We're accepting participants on a first-come, first-serve basis—and sorry, we can't accept reservations for friends; each person who wants to attend must send a separate email. Anyone who sends an email after the class is filled will be put on the wait list, and we'll notify you if space frees up.
