And you thought Fifth Avenue stores were fancy already. WWD reports that Domenico Vacca, the designer who dresses stars like Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, Will Ferrell, and Al Pacino and recently took a bit part in the Entourage film, will open up a flagship within a townhouse that'll hold men's and women's apparel and accessories, a café, a barber shop, a beauty salon, a members-only club with a separate entrance to a lounge and rooftop, and 30 luxury residences. Yes, residences.
"I have always wanted to express my creativity and sense of style in other lifestyle concepts," Vacca, the label's founder and designer told the paper. "This building is a mecca of extravagance and comfort, each aspect and detail a labor of love. For the new retail space I wanted to create a place that is not just a storefront but a destination that draws people in to connect, shop and relax, reviving the in-store shopping experience."
Technically, it'll be right off of Fifth Avenue: The New York Post writes that the townhouse is located at 15 West 55th Street, with a massive, just-unveiled 82-foot-by-20-foot facade. Vacca reportedly also spent $20 million to renovate the 100-year-old property, but don't worry—he'll eventually recuperate those costs with the $20,000 members-only club annual fee.
Vacca's other New York store is right up the block at the Sherry Netherlands Hotel. An opening date for the townhouse is unclear, as is what'll happen to the hotel store when it does. What is clear is that designers are certainly taking advantage of the great spaces right off of Fifth Avenue: Both John Barrett and Vivienne Westwood have recently announced grand townhouse plans in the neighborhood.
