Byredo's First-Ever U.S. Store Opens on Wooster Street Today

Much like Byredo's squat glass perfume bottles, which close with a super-satisfying magnetic "click," the brand's first U.S. store manages to pull off the trick of being minimal yet inviting. The airy Wooster Street space showcases the brand's full range of fragrances and candles against a glossy backdrop of Terrazzo walls, glass-brick room dividers, and polished Canadian Douglas fir beams.

Floor-to-ceiling shelving along the right side of the store holds Byredo's leather bags, which founder Ben Gorham introduced last February, while the brand's various collaborations (like a friendship knife co-designed with M/M Paris) are scattered throughout. Funnily enough, the store doesn't have much of a smell—partly thanks to the fact that all open candles are kept under scent-sealing glass domes—but spritzing and sniffing the brand's perfumes, body creams, and bath oils at your leisure is highly encouraged.
