Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Update: This class is now full—thanks to everyone who signed up!
Calling all rockstars (or rockstars-to-be)! We're teaming up with Soulcycle for this month's Racked Fit Club, heading to the new studio they debuted on the Upper West Side in May. Emily L. will be leading us in 45 minutes of riding to the beat—complete with choreography and a dedicated arms section—in the candlelit studio at W92 (2465 Broadway) this Thursday, June 18th beginning at 6:30pm.
If you're interested in attending, you should be able to get to the studio at least 15 minutes before class starts for check-in and set-up. Fitted leggings or capris and a top you're ready to sweat in are recommended, and the studio will be providing clip-in shoes, water bottles, and towels free of charge. You'll be able to store your stuff in their keypad lockers (read: no padlock needed), and you can take advantage of the showers after class if need be. And don't be intimidated if you've never tapped back at Soulcycle before—this class is suitable for all levels.
Want in on the action? We've got 43 bikes to fill. Send an email here with the subject line "Racked Fit Club" and your name in the body of the email. We're accepting participants on a first-come, first-serve basis—and sorry, we can't accept reservations for friends; each person who wants to attend must send a separate email. Anyone who sends an email after the class is filled will be put on the wait list, and we'll notify you if space frees up.
