Fans of Yves Salomon (read: those with money to spend on fur) will be happy to hear that the French brand is finally making its way to New York. Thor Equities announced that the 35-year-old label is subleasing 1,050 square feet of retail space at 786 Madison Avenue, right off of 67th Street and in reach of stores like Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and Oscar de la Renta—not to mention fellow fur aficionado J. Mendel right across the street.
So far, the name has been pretty elusive stateside—the only place customers can find it on this continent is at the Aspen boutique (across the Atlantic, there's a few stores in Paris as well as distribution in department stores like Harrod's and Galeries Lafayette). And while it might not be peak season for fur-buying, Yves Salomon also makes non-sweat-inducing collections for both men and women.
There's no word yet on an opening date, but we'll be on the lookout for its debut in the coming months.
