Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Thinking about trying your luck at the Manolo Blahnik sample sale, since Louboutin basically sounds like a no-go? If you haven't already grabbed a spot in line, you might be too late. Racked reporter Daise Bedolla stopped by the Warwick Hotel around noon today and found more than 200 people waiting for admittance in what's best described as a holding pen on the second floor (in stark contrast to their last sale here).

They're letting in groups of ten at a time but not giving shoppers any time limit once they're inside, meaning that the wait will likely get longer as the day goes on. If you are thinking about going over, bring a book along with your wad of cash—that's the only form of payment they're accepting.

Have you already shopped this sale today? Tell us about it at ny@racked.com.
