Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
FLATIRON—Just in time for the birth of lumbersexuality, Eddie Bauer is returning to NYC with a 35-foot-long, giveaway-touting airstream stationed tomorrow in Union Square (11am to 2pm), and Wednesday on Bowery between Houston and Stanton Streets (11am to 2pm). On Thursday from noon to 7pm at the new store (Fifth Avenue at 15th Street), stop by their "Welcome to the Neighborhood" party, where there'll be live bands, food trucks, and additional giveaways.
GOWANUS—Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue is holding their first fundraising gala at Littlefield on May 27th, and if the fact that ticket proceeds will go towards "saving badass dogs from idiot humans" didn't already convince you, there'll also be Sixpoint beers, cocktails, wine, and small bites, as well as a small play, live music, storytelling, and a live auction (with a real auctioneer!) for a three-night Maine vacation, dog training classes, dog babysitting, and more. Tickets start at $75, and are available here.
