Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
We've been hearing about it for two years, but now, Tory Burch's athleisure offshoot, Tory Sport, is likely joining the ever-expanding Flatiron fitness crowd. WWD reports that the store could open on Fifth Avenue as early as this year (though a rep responded, "We cannot confirm at this time.")
Once it debuts, Tory Sport will also have e-commerce on its own separate website, torysport.com, as well as its own social media presence. "[It's] a major step," Burch has said. "It's creating another brand. It's being designed in-house and marries function and style."
What will Tory Sport be, exactly? Burch has confirmed "yoga, running, some tennis and golf," and perhaps some athletic accessories as well—she's already collaborated with Fitbit on a line of fitness trackers.
