Head over to Chelsea to peruse the pristine stock at Staff USA’s sale. You’ll have to go through the second door at 220 West 19th Street, and up the service elevator, so there's a bit of a wait to get to the 10th floor. There’s little signage in the room so here's what you need to know: the sale is credit card only, prices are as marked, women’s clothing and shoes are to the right as you walk in (after the coat check), and men’s apparel and accessories are to the left, by the checkout counter. Things are expensive here, no doubt, but what you’re finding are one-of-a-kind pieces at wholesale prices.
Most women's Maison Margiela, MM6, and DSquared2 clothing is a size 40 (a US size 10), with a few 38s and 42s here and there. Some standouts: a indigo fitted Dsquared2 dress for $313, a floral Maison Margiela shirt ($396), a cream DSquared2 coat ($501), and a white MM6 sleeveless shirt for $141. If you're looking for an investment piece, we noticed a ivory stitched Maison Margiela sweater for $2,873 and embellished DSquared2 jeans for $419.
In the men’s section, blazers and jackets are plentiful. Most DSquared and Maison jackets are a size 48 (US 38), while Marc Jacobs outerwear sizes range from 50 to 54. We spotted a red Marc Jacobs rain coat for $876, a black Dsquared2 sweater for $311, and a Maison Margiela shirt for $224. On the higher end, there's a black leather Maison Margiela jacket for $1,979.
Shoes are limited to men’s size 43 (US 10) and women’s size 37 (US 7). There are some lovely pairs for you size 7s out there, including Maison Margiela heels ($379), MM6 flats ($122) and Maison Margiela boots ($398). We also saw men’s Marc Jacobs boat shoes for $281, Marc Jacobs high top sneakers for $361 and brown leather MM6 men's shoes for $289.
Head to the table in the center of the sale for an abundant selection of Maison Margiela handbags, including a black cross-body ($678), a khaki shoulder bag ($742), and a beige bucket style ($609). Over by the cash register there’s a table full of wallets and pouches for $125 to $250, and a case of jewelry with a few pieces around $200. The sale goes through Saturday at 5pm, so if you’re ready to invest, head over tomorrow on your lunch break.
