After a brief hiatus in Minneapolis, Brooke Hunt is back to keeping Brooklyn well-groomed with the second coming of her unisex hair salon The Bird House. The stylist maintained a well-loved single-chair outpost on Cobble Hill's Court Street as late as 2013, and now local blog Pardon Me for Asking reports that Hunt has reopened in Gowanus.

"We are really proud to be in Gowanus," Nicci Hubert, Hunt's sister and salon director, told the site. "It is amazing to see how supportive the community is here...there is a real sense of camaraderie."

And that camaraderie extends to Hunt's loyal customers, whom Hunt says helped her find the new salon (that has at least three chairs) and design a new logo. Interested in checking it out? RSVP to next weekend's champagne toast.
