Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The beleagured Reed Krakoff label is continuing to wind down. Along with closing every store, including the recently-opened Soho boutique, Mizhattan reports that the brand will have a sample sale in May. Apparently, every cloud has its silver lining.
Though the sale had been open to employees in the past, this'll be the first time the public is invited as well. Because of the shutdown, it's hard to predict what you'll be able to find there (or how much it'll cost), but previous private events had 80% off retail prices on ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, leather goods, and other small accessories—and chances are the discounts could be even steeper for the final hurrah.
Tuesday, May 12th through Saturday, May 16th. Tue—Thu 10am—8pm, Fri 11am—8pm, Sat 11am—7pm.
