Update: As of Wednesday afternoon, all items are now 80% off retail prices—original discounts are reflected below. The sale has also been extended through Monday evening.
Tomorrow, Nicholas Kirkwood’s shoe sale at C21 Edition opens to the public. We got a preview of the goods this morning, and every shoe in the room is 70% off the ticketed price, with about 70 styles to choose from.
When you walk up the stairs to C21 Edition (look for the door next to Century 21's main entrance), you’ll find heels and boots on the left, and sandals and flats on the right. Keep a lookout for signs on certain shelves in the center, there are sections for "lucky sizes," meaning one-off styles for 5—6.5, 7—7.5, 8—8.5, and for 9 and up. The shelves against the walls are well-stocked with all sizes.
We spotted New Helmut heels for $238.50 (were $795), zigzag pumps for $238.50 (were $795), and velvet Iris pumps for $204 (originally $680). If you’re out for more edgy styles, there are stilettos with fur for $449 and colorful snakeskin heels for $509. Also of note: navy Vero Cuoio booties for $418.50 (originally $1,395).
If intricate designs and textured leather are what you're after, there are silver stilettos for $478.50 (were $1,595) and lots of laser-cut heels (a suede pair is $375, down from $1,250). We also saw a pair of buckled boots for $298.50 (were $995), and leather ankle booties for $268.50 (originally $895).
The cheapest styles are flat sandals for $149 and wedge sandals for $168, and the most expensive are knee-high boots for $573 (originally $1,910). The designs with the biggest size runs are white loafers for $174 (originally $580) and black sandals for $179.
In the men's section, there are a few shelves with mostly ankle boots ($255—$309) and lace-up shoes for $208.50 (originally $695). We also saw a pair of zigzag suede loafers for $255 (were $850). Sizes run from 39 to 44.5.
The sale goes on through Friday Monday. Be sure to stop by early if you see something you like in the slideshow, or if your size is usually the first to go.
