Prices Start at $15 at Marissa Webb's Sample Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Marissa Webb's sample sale is back, and this time it's inside a lovely pop-up shop at 215 Mulberry Street. We stopped by for a sneak peek at the offerings last night, and found everything to be super-organized.

The sale is a mix of pieces from current and past collections, as well as a few true samples. We saw a lot of leftovers from the previous sample sale back in October, including cotton pants, beaded blouses, sequined shorts and many of the shoes.

There's a range of prices—the cheapest offerings are the "Christine" linen tank tops and "Marley" boyfriend tees for $15, and the most expensive items include a smooth black "Corbin" leather moto jacket for $400 and "Liya" burgundy leather pants for $425. For comparison, Marissa Webb's pieces start at $70 and go up to $895 in her online store.

That being said, most of the items are under $200. Some favorites: the white "Genevieve" jacket for $125, the "Ethan" beaded blouse for $50, and a flowy white silk "Cadenza" top for $60. We also liked the "Andy" crepe drop-back dress in saffron red for $150.

For deals under $100, we spotted a few "Binta" leather moto shorts for $75, beautiful "Janice" cropped silk pants for $40, and a silver "Daria" mini skirt for $85.

Sizing-wise, we spotted 0's through 10's and smalls through larges (although sizing is limited for some styles). Don't hesitate to ask the friendly staff to help you find your size. There's is a fitting room with a mirror in the back, in case you want to make sure you can squeeze into those sexy leather pants.

Shoes are scattered around the space, and most are displayed on the top shelves above the clothes. The majority of the pumps and a few iterations of the "Daphnie" lace-ups are $100. For shoes under $100, we found a pair of silver combo "Sydney" sandals for $50, "Sofie" color-blocked cut-out booties, and "Daphnie" color-blocked lace-up heels in red and black for $75 (originally $498). The sizes on display range from 37 to 41. There are more shoes in the back, so you can ask the staff to look for your size if you don't see it out.

We are told that there will be restocking throughout the sale. Cash and credit cards are accepted and your purchases will be packed up in cute Marissa Webb shopping bags.—Hsini
