Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Head to the Mackage sample sale in West Midtown ASAP if you’re in the market for a leather jacket or a hugely discounted winter coat. We stopped by the sale this morning and discovered plenty of sizes (XXS-L) in a variety of colors and styles, not to mention a good selection of pristine leather bags. There are two large mirrors on either end of the room, where shoppers can try on items.

For leather jackets, women’s styles run XS to L (with plenty in between) and all are 50-60% off. Some of our favorites: a Tamika jacket with fur for $400 (originally $995), a Lisa leather jacket in jade for $370 (was $740), and a Robbie jacket for $290 (was $725). Most wool outerwear is 40-50% off, like a Steffy coat for $420 (was $695) and a Phylis wool coat for $340 (originally $690). Puffer coats are similarly discounted, but there isn't much size variety— most are XXS.

Beyond coats and jackets, there's a Gisa puffer vests for $410, down from $690. We also saw a Hava raincoat for $160 (was $395), a beige Avra trench for $300 (originally $595) and a tiny selection of leather skirts for $210 (from $350).

Along the men’s side of the room, most leather styles are 60% off, including a Paxton jacket for $420 (was $1,050) and a Mateo jacket for $380 (was $960). Men’s wool and winter coats are reduced by 40-50%—we saw a Carlo pea coat for $350 (was $695) and a winter puffer coat for $445 (originally $890). Sizes run from 38 to 46.

The accessories section is bound to be plundered immediately. Bags are largely 50-60% off, and most are under $200. We saw a great Novaki bag in merlot for $135 (was $225), a coral Aden bag for $195 (originally $395) and a black Tanner backpack for $330 (was $550). There’s also a white Raffie shoulder bag for $180 (was $450) and a Roni clutch for $140 (was $295).

The biggest discounts we saw? A Nomad bag for $120 and a leather Frederica vest for $150—both 70% off the original price. Hurry there now, early birds were arriving in droves as we were walking out; bags and puffer coats seem to be the main attraction.
