Prices start at just $25 for leather pieces at the much-anticipated Veda sample sale. The deals aren't bad on Bing Bang jewelry, either. (Example: their signature pyramid studs are half off at just $25.) We stopped by the friends and family preview last night to get a peek at the goods and there were plenty of leather pieces perfect for spring—from simple leather slip dresses and mini skirts ($125) to lightweight leather jacket samples ($225).
Bringing cash to this sale is worth your while—not only are they are offering $25 cash discount on each Veda item over $125, the line at checkout for people using credit cards was very long. Housed in Veda's new space at 269 Canal street, keep your eyes peeled for a silver elevator door with signs for the Veda sale, or you might walk right by it.
There are amazing gems hiding in the sample racks that line the back wall of the sale. From leather gym shorts ($25) to leather jackets with shearling details ($325) there's something for every season. Among the small rack of vintage garments, we spotted a classic Letterman jacket for just $50. Be sure to check over the samples and vintage items for damages. While the sample racks only house small sizes, the rest of the sale is well stocked with all sizes.
Everything is priced as marked so be sure to check the individual tags. At the popular $125 price point, there is a great variety of styles, including silver metallic pencil skirts, silk dresses, leather bike shorts, cashmere sweaters, leather short overalls, and leggings. We also spotted leather crop tops and tank tops, great to wear now as spring has finally arrived.
If you're willing to spend a little more money, there's an abundance of novelty leather jackets for $425, including floral printed and silver metallic moto styles and hunter green bombers. For $325 we spotted gold metallic leather pants, classic black leather moto vests, and wool coats with leather sleeves. Also on the higher end of the price scale are heavy shearling coats for $625.
If you find something you like on the racks lining the side walls, be sure to ask the helpful sales staff for other sizes as they do have some overstock on select styles. With no fitting room, and only a few full length mirrors lining the walls, they got overcrowded quickly.
The table full of Bing Bang jewelry is strategically placed at the front of the sale so you have no choice but to ogle the great deals on cool jewels while you wait on line. Each piece is marked with the sale price, the cheapest pieces (including hoop earrings) going for around $20. We spotted stud earrings and a few necklaces for just $25. Pieces with gemstones tend to be more pricey, with gemstone rings and bracelets around $90. There is plenty of stock on most styles, just ask the helpful sales staff for assistance.
