JackRabbit Sports, one of New York's go-to shops for running and sports gear since 2003, has just joined the Running Specialty Group, which is kind of like a conglomerate of running apparel shops across the country. Business Wire reports that the store's founder, Lee Silverman, will also be joining the company as the senior vice president of brand strategy.
"We take pride in the level of service our staff provides customers, whether they're lacing up for the very first time or they're experienced triathletes," Silverman told the publication. "That service commitment remains and I am confident we'll only heighten our engagement with all of our customers in joining RSG."
JackRabbit Sports has four locations in the city, including on the Upper East and West Sides, Park Slope, and near Union Square. That leaves Williamsburg's Brooklyn Running Co. and Madison Avenue's Urban Athletics as the remaining specialty running stores in the city.
