Though you might get some serious high-fashion vibes from the clientele at ModelFit, it's the atmosphere in which Rumblefit classes take place that might have you think you've accidentally stumbled into an editorial. That's because there's a good chance that before your class started, an editorial shoot was taking place in the 7,000-square-foot loft five stories above Mercer Street.
Well + Good checked out the "indie kickboxing" workout that trainer Greg MitchellMayer has been hosting here since January, most of which involve running, footwork exercises, resistance bands, and jumprope before practicing punching and kicking combos with a partner. Yup, that means you'll be taking the punches (with proper padding, of course) as well as doling them out. Their overall take? "Decently sweaty but not crazy difficult, with a casual, indie vibe that fosters community, not competition."
Those interested in checking out the gym can email rumblefit.nyc@gmail.com and get their first class for only $20.
