After rolling out stores in L.A. (2011) and Hawaii (2013), Vivienne Westwood is getting ready to open a New York City flagship. This fall, the designer is taking over a 15,000-square-foot, six-story French Beaux Arts townhouse at 14 East 55th Street, with the first three levels devoted to men's and women's ready-to-wear, accessories, and bridal and the top three reserved for showrooms and administrative offices.
"The building we have chosen for our shop has a great atmosphere and the area is perfect for us," Andreas Kronthaler, Westwood's husband and the label's creative director, said in a statement. Bonus: it's located directly across from the still-buzzy Polo Bar, which means Vivienne Westwood can count on a steady stream of post-lunch shoppers.
