Three seasons after buzzy duo Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier took over Marc by Marc Jacobs, the line is being discontinued and folded into the main Marc Jacobs collection, WWD reports. According to the publication's Bridget Foley (who also wrote a book about Jacobs), the merger will result in a "range of merchandise and price points currently divided between the two lines, from luxury to contemporary."
It's unclear when (or if) Marc Jacobs' three M x MJ stores—Marc by Marc Jacobs Women's (403 Bleecker Street), Marc by Marc Jacobs Men's (382 Bleecker Street), and Marc by Marc Jacobs Accessories (301 West 4th Street)—will shutter, but in the meantime we'll be watching the West Village spaces for sales.
