Nothing against toy soldier uniforms and fur-trimmed Mrs. Clause coats, but the Rockettes' first spring show in nearly a decade, the New York Spring Spectacular, will be a far more fashion-conscious ode to flying extremities. WWD reports that the show, which is currently in previews and premieres March 26th, features an entire segment devoted to New York Fashion Week, and includes costumes by Diane Von Furstenberg, Zac Posen, and Isaac Mizrahi.
In the tribute, the Rockettes attend (and eventually star in) a fashion show during which the stage is transformed into a moving catwalk, showcasing costumes by the three designers, including a danceable DVF wrap dress (pictured), alongside voiceover from each designer. Elsewhere in the show, you'll also notice voiceover work by other New Yorkers like Whoopi Goldberg, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Donald Trump, and Martha Stewart.
"Designing for something as iconic to Americana as the Rockettes is such a privilege for a New Yorker like myself," Posen told the paper.
