Are Blink Fitness and Soulcycle becoming a thing? The budget gym and the pricey cycling studio have been seen around town together quite a few times now. First, Soul followed Blink to Bryant Park, and now they're headed to East 54th Street together, The Real Deal reports.
Each fitness center has signed for a 20-year lease at the site of a former parking garage between Second and Third Avenues, with Blink taking the building's second and third floors plus part of the ground floor for a total 20,500 square feet. Soulcycle's ground-level studio, meanwhile, will be 4,500 square feet.
That leaves another 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space at the site. To complete the healthy picture here, the real estate publication said the building developer is looking for "a juice or salad tenant" to enter.
Blink's nearest location to this area right now is in Murray Hill, while Soulcycle operates a studio on East 63rd Street near Lexington Avenue. This will be Soulcycle's fifteenth studio in the five boroughs, following the recent announcement of Brooklyn Heights.
