- Before catching a flight to London, I fit in a quick workout in honor of Body Reboot week on Style.com. My mother thinks it’s laughable that I’m leading this initiative o
- I check my medicine cabinet to make sure there aren’t any beauty supplies I need to traffic back to the States from overseas. Don’t tell Customs I’ve smuggled a lifetime supply of Bioderma Créaline during my last few trips to Paris. Many a model and makeu
- Loving the ponytails Guido Palau clipped to one side at Prada’s menswear show. If my hair is ever long enough to recreate this look, consider it done.
- After a power nap upon landing, it’s off to explore London. Obligatory shot of Big Ben from the back of a black cab.
- Dishoom in Shoreditch has incredible Indian cuisine and the drinks are as delicious as they look.
- Apparently Shoreditch House wants its guests to be prepared. In-room amenities include Cowshed’s Horny Cow Seductive Bath and Body Oil. Let’s just say I opted for sleep-inducing lavender body wash, a hot water bottle (also provided by the hotel), and some
- In order to keep up with Cara Delevingne, the guest of honor at YSL Beauté’s “YSL Loves Your Lips” party, I relied on Troy Surratt’s Expressioniste Brow Pencil in Blonde. A quick swipe of red lipstick is also my secret (lazy girl) weapon.
- The Boiler House in East London was the location for YSL’s lipstick-themed fete. The brand swanked up a warehouse-like space with neon hashtags, while Chelsea Leyland Mary Charteris split the deejaying responsibilities.
- I’m kind of the worst at posing for pictures—obviously something at the party caught my eye. (Perhaps it was Cara?) My boyfriend told me that my satin tux jacket with tails made me look like a ringmaster. My life is a circus, may as well dress the part.
- Up bright and early after the party to get a sneak peek of YSL’s newest launches (like Pop Water, a lip stain with a jelly-like texture) and refresh of a few cult classics such as Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick and Touche Éclat.
- A quick trip to Harrods, during which I rode the Egyptian Escalator, encountered a few polar bears, and ogled a few pastries.
- After a trip to the Victoria and Albert Museum to check out the Wedding Dresses 1775-2014 exhibit, I stopped for a spot of tea at the Sanderson with Beauty Mart’s Sarah Guild (a proper Brit) and Natalie Navarre from YSL (my fellow American). The Mad Hatte
- With zero time to order coffee, a quick wake-up rinse does the job before heading to Heathrow. The best part about Shoreditch House: No need to pack travel-size products when you’re spoilt for choice every time you step into the shower.
- There wasn’t a closet in my room, but pegs on the walls made seeing my clothes (and packing them up!) a lot easier. Here, my vintage scores—including a prized Moschino blazer—from East London.
- I had grand plans to read a pile of UK mags, road test these Lego-like hair clips from Beauty Mart, hydrate by slathering myself in Embryolisse cream, and rejuvenate my jet-lagged complexion with a sheet mask from Korean brand The Skin Lounge … but I pass
- Jet-lagged and wishing I was able to stuff these bar chairs from the Sanderson hotel into my suitcase—they would have looked right at home in my Brooklyn abode. The same can be said for the lipstick couch.
- On my desk is a pristine pop-up “wedding invitation” for the “only daughter” to the late designer Christian Dior: Miss Dior—the hair mist edition (out in March).
- What happened to high tea? New Yorkers should definitely adopt this English tradition in lieu of the frantic Starbucks run. Missing these edible chocolate cups filled with green tea mousse and the delectable “Drink Me” potions.
- Unpacked a few treasures from London, including new Whistles flats for fashion month, a vintage leather mini bag that won’t weigh me down backstage, and an iPhone case covered in a flashy feline print.
- Three sets of press-ons from across the pond: House of Holland’s Cartoon Claws and Sophy Robson’s Animal Print and Black French Tips.
- Decided to give Glitter Lips in Ruby Slippers a whirl. Amazingly, these sparkles stay put through eating and drinking, yet my fur child Miss Enid Marie Josephine is still not impressed.
