Still holding onto a few thousand dollars' worth of holiday gift money? (No? Okay.) One of the year's most grandiose sales has returned, and, as we've mentioned in the past, it is PETA's absolute worst nightmare. Right now at Dennis Basso's Madison Avenue boutique, fall furs and ready-to-wear dresses are discounted 40% to 70%, according to Madison Avenue Spy.
Be warned, however: Markdowns at Dennis Basso can mean spending up to $15,000 on a single coat. At last January's sale, we found fur vests, boleros, long coats, and cropped sables in the $2,000 to $38,000 range (yes, really), ball gowns for around $1,500 (reduced from $30,000), boots for $1,000, an alligator tote for $1,500, and a pair of $760 earmuffs, which, to be fair, are probably quite cozy. You've got through the rest of the week to shop.
