Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
For the twelfth year running, Housing Works will host its Fashion for Action charity sale starting on Thursday, November 19th. Shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase more than 200 brands — like Chanel, Tom Ford, and Ralph Lauren — at up to 70% off retail prices. Proceeds will benefit Housing Works's youth outreach program for those living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS.
The two-part event (if you're willing to drop at least $500 on a VIP ticket, that is) includes shopping with the CFDA's Fashion Instagrammer of the Year at the Chelsea location an hour before doors open to the public at 6pm, then attending a party hosted by Sirius XM's Bevy Smith at The Rubin Museum of Art just down the street with guests that include event co-chairs Martha Hunt, Mickey Boardman, Zac Posen, and Patricia Clarkson.
Regular, non-VIP tickets start at $100 for entry into the shopping event at 7pm (with party access included), and you can either type here. If you'd rather not shell out before you shop, hit up the public hours that run from Friday through Sunday.
